: 1.Is it possible to create two Master Portfolios with sub portfolios in each one Or, do all sub portfolios aggregate into one master portfolio?
: 2.Is a problem created if I use original acquisition dates for securities e.g. 1980 , but only enter transactions for the past 12 months ?

Hi Harley,

1) You can do this by just creating 2 Master Portfolio sub-portfolios right underneath your highest level sub-portfolio. The name "Master Portfolio" is just the default for the highest level sub-portfolio, you can change this to anything you want. Your sub-portfolios can have as much hierarchy as you want, there is no limit here. At the very top, there is only 1 highest level sub-portfolio though. So, you could do something like this:

1) All my portfolios
2) Master Portfolio A
2) Master Portfolio B

You can report or graph at any level of sub-portfolio.

2) You would somehow want to make sure you've entered all the shares you own. If you only want to enter the last 12 months, you might want to make an artificial purchase 12 months ago for the number of shares you owned as of that date, so that the total number you own now ends up correct. Any of your transactions can be dated for whenever you want. You could record a purchase in 1980, and then all transactions within the last 12 months, but if this doesn't account for all your currently owned shares, you'll want to make this adjustment somehow.

Thanks,
Mark
