: Hi Mark, Installed 8.4 on Vista for testing and observed a problem with the passing of the variable to IE7. I would not get the yahoo page for the correct investment. I checked the box for FM to run in compatibility mode for xp sp2 an it fixed the problem. I note there was a backup problem reported a few posts ago that was corrected the same way so I think I will continue to run FM in this mode untill a Vista version is available.

Hi Fred,

This problem is not specific to Vista. In some cases, when right mouse clicking on a graph and choosing the web news, account fee, or spinoff choices, the wrong investment can come up. This is a bug in 8.4, and has been fixed for the next release.

It is not necessary to run FM in any compatibility mode. You can run it regular under Vista. In order to download updated quote or transaction modules though you must run FM as an administrator under Vista. Even if you are an administrator, normally programs are not run as an admin, they're run as a regular user. You can either modify the shortcut you use to start FM, or right mouse click on the shortcut, and choose "Run As Administrator". This is only necessary when updating one of these modules while running under Vista.

Thanks,
Mark
