I have seen this with other mutual fund companies, like Janus, but haven't seen it before with Vanguard. I personally have accounts at Vanguard, and have multiple funds within a single account... Maybe somehow mine is set up differently with them. If you're curious, you might want to call Vanguard and ask them why each fund has a different account number. : : I'm thinking that for the future it might be a good feature to allow multiple account numbers to be specified for each sub-portfolio.
