I tried to download historical transactions from Vanguard, but got the following messages. "Cound not open log file for writing." Next message "C:\Program Files\Fund Manager\ofxpost.txt" I have used an old version for years, but never tried to download any files. I don't know a lot about how these things work and have had quite a bit of trouble getting my files on the new computer. For "account number" under retrieve settings I used one of my account numbers. Should I have used the social security number? Or is there an account number that covers all accounts? Hi Brenda, It sounds like you are using Windows Vista, and have UAC turned on. If so, please do this: 1) Exit Fund Manager After you do this, you can exit Fund Manager, and re-start it the normal way. This should fix the problem about not being able to write that file. This error is happening before your account number ever comes into use. I believe you do want to use your account number here, and not your social security number. Thanks,
