: I have a lot of trouble with retrieving transactions. New purchases and dividends are often perceived as new holdings; FM doesn't recognize them as the same things I already have.

: The manual says FM matches first by CUSIP numbers, then at symbol. My holdings all had symbols so I manually entered all the CUSIP numbers and this made things even worse. Now it doesn't recognize ANY of my holdings. What number should be in that field and where do I find it?

Hi Mary,

It is best to get the CUSIP recorded properly, this will ensure matching of transactions to your existing investments. One way to get the CUSIP, is to retrieve into a new, empty sub-portfolio and allow FM to create these new investments for you. When FM creates these investments, it will assign the CUSIP (and symbol) as specified from the broker. You can then use this CUSIP in your existing investments, and just delete this temporary investment/sub-portfolio.

Thanks,
Mark
