: Yes, a single investment can be instantiated in as many different sub-portfolios as you want. Just use copy/paste, or drag and drop within the Portfolio Editor, but hold down the Ctrl key to copy instead of move.

: BTW, you can sub-total your reports by sub-portfolio, investment type, symbol, asset type or investment goal categories. In the Report Settings dialog put a check mark in "Subtotal By", and then to the right, select what you want to sub-total by.

Regarding the sub-totaling of reports by investment type, symbol, asset type or investment goal categories, I don't see that option in the Report Settings dialog. Is this a Fund Manager 8 feature?

I have Fund Manager 7.8. I see 5 combo boxes in Report Settings: Title, Type, List By, and Portfolio. I did not notice the List By combo before I wrote my prior post. That is nice. But the sub-totaling still only occurs with portfolios.
