: Hi,

: I have been using fund manager for a while now and I want to add a cash investment/account to get a better global view of my investments. I read on several places that transactions are then done with the default cash acount but I guess I somewhere messed up because my dividens/buys/sells are not recorded on this default cash account.

: This is what I tried:

: - right click on my portfolio and select 'new investment'

: - fill in the data
: --Name: cash
: --symbol: why do i need to give in a symbol?
: --Investment type: Cash
: --Opening data: set the date and add 1 share with the starting price of my cash.

: -right click again on my portfolio and select 'properties' the set 'Default cash account' to the previously created 'cash ' investment

: Is there something else i need to do or am I just missing the point? Or will only new dividens/buys/sells be booked to the 'cash' investment?

: kind regards,

: Jef

Hi Jef,

You did it perfectly correct. Your very last sentence is true. Only transactions added while this investment is assigned as the default cash account will show up here. It doesn't automatically go back retroactively and add cash transactions for all your prior transactions when you assign it as the default cash account.

Thanks,
Mark
