: : Do you know what change I need to make in Microsoft Outlook to allow the FundManager Program to send eMail [alerts] without being prompted for an OK?

: : Message from Microsoft Office Outlook is:
: : "A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf. Do you want to allow this?"
: : Yes No Help

: : From MS Help
: : A program is trying to send mail using Item.Send
: : A program is trying to automatically send an e-mail message using a Microsoft Visual Basic Application (VBA) command, Item.Send, from within Microsoft Outlook. If you want this program to send this message, click Yes. To stop the program, click No. If you are unsure which program is sending the message or why the message is being sent, you should click No to help avoid the possible spread of viruses.

: : Note When this message is displayed, the Yes button is not available for five seconds.

: Hi James,

: This sounds like the security guard in Outlook. When other programs try to send mail using Outlook, this security prompt can come up on some versions of Outlook. Here are a few suggestions:

: 1) Set up Fund Manager to send directly, rather than use your MAPI client. Under "Options / Alerts..." click the "Configure..." button in the Email section. If you are sending via an SMTP mail server, you can enter the settings in here, and FM will send the alert directly to the mail server, bypassing Outlook.

: 2) Use a 3rd party tool to bypass this security guard. For example, see:

: Quick-Merge

: 3) Outlook 2007 allows you to turn off this security feature if you are running up to date anti-virus software. You could upgrade to Outlook 2007...

: Thanks,
: Mark

Mark,
I did try that and I get a message from the Fund Manager application:
Socket connect error: 10053
Then another message:
Invalid socket.
