Re: UK FUND PRICE DOWNLOAD IN POUNDS[ Message Board ] [ Archives ] [ Search ] Posted by Mark on September 04, 2007 at 15:21:10: In Reply to: UK FUND PRICE DOWNLOAD IN POUNDS posted by TerryWood on September 03, 2007 at 04:44:17: : Hi : I am currently trialling Fund Manager and have hit a snag. : Most UK stocks and mutual funds download prices in pence. Fund manager deals with this by changing the price into pounds. The initial purchase of units are also recorded in pounds also. : The problem arises when one wants to download a fund from Yahoo .co.uk which is ALREADY priced in Pounds ie City of London Emerging World. Ticker Symbol = MFHCEWGR.L : Because the price is already in pounds and in addition Fund Manager divides the downloaded price by 100 (it assumes the price is in pence and converts it to pounds)the end result is a price that should be circa £30.00 but actually ends up as circa £0.30 : I have tried numerous ways to get round this, and yes I can get the price to shown correctly by manipulating currencies. But this then causes another problem it affects the original input price ie the price at which units were purchased., They then end up 100 times less. : Can anyone explain whether it is possible to download Securities already priced in pounds and show the correct price, without affecting anything else : Usually this is done by a per security adjustment factor, however FM does not appear to utilise this. : Thanks for your help : Terry Hi Terry, Are all UK fund prices reported in pounds on Yahoo - UK? If so, I may need to re-think how this works currently for this server. The way it works now is that any investment with a symbol ending in ".L" will be divided by 100. It is expecting the quote in pence, and adjusting to pounds. This is only the case on Yahoo - UK. What you can do is retrieve these quotes that are reporting in pounds already from the regular "Yahoo" server instead. You can override the global default quote server on an investment by investment basis. Under "Investment Properties... / Internet Retrieve" you can set the quote server to use for each investment. If you retrieve MFHCEWGR.L from Yahoo it will not divide by 100, so you'll get the correct quote, in pounds. Also, in some cases I've seen where you can get the same quote using just MFHCEWGR (without the .L). This didn't seem to work for this quote for some reason. If that quote did work, then it wouldn't be divided by 100 even on the Yahoo - UK server since it doesn't end in .L. Thanks,
