Portfolio Report: Performance Comparison

Concerning a comparison of my portfolio to one or more major indices:

I'd like to include a comparison of my portfolio to a couple of the major stocks indices (e.g. S&P500 and DJ Industrial), but I have no idea how to accomplish this.

Since I own no such funds or record of index data in any portfolio, I'm confused as to how I include this data without confusing the program into thinking I've somehow created a transaction rather than a comparison.
