: I run the distribution summary on a portfolio and it shows all the dividends. However I note that STCapGn/MTCapGn/LTCapGn fields are not populated. This is despite the fact that these fields are populated when I run the Capital Gains report on the same portfolio over the same date.

Hi Rupert,

The "Distribution Summary" report shows data from recorded distribution transactions. Often times mutual funds will pay out capital gain distributions. These are recorded as the appropriate type of distribution.

The "Capital Gain" report is showing your gains or losses on shares you have sold. These were not distributions, they are realized gains/losses. These capital gains will not show on a distribution summary report, because they aren't distributions.

Thanks,
Mark
