: Due to a bad experience with my hard drive I want to back-up and replicate my fund manager portfolio (rupert.mm4) on a second PC. The process I follow is this: file->backup->rupert.bck on to the removable disc. On the second PC I do: file->restore->rupert.bck. This captures all the individul investments, however it does not capture the portfolio structure, ie the sub-portfolios in master portfolio (Rupert.mm4). This might no be the correct way to back up, but it has worked for me for years. Find your FM folder in your my programs list, copy the My Data folder to the clip board and past it to a disk or CD. Install FM on the other computer, find the My Data file on second computer and delete it . Copy the My Data file from first computer to the clipboard of second computer copy it to the FM folder . If you don't delete the original my data file before copying the My Data file you will end up with FM/ My Data/my Data It will still work
