Re: Same investment in different portofolios[ Message Board ] [ Archives ] [ Search ] Posted by Mark on May 30, 2006 at 19:33:47: In Reply to: Re: Same investment in different portofolios posted by Mary Wyatt on May 30, 2006 at 19:25:00: : Dear FM, : Think this is the same issue asked in a different way, but need to get clear on it. : I have a range of investments that are in different sub portfolios. Initially created new ones for each sub portfolio, ie BHP.dat, BHP1.dat, BHP2.dat were in the My_Data file. : However on reviewing the overall portfolio these appeared as different invements (in the colours in the pie chart). : So deleted all the xxx1.dat, xxx2.dat versions. However, on changing the purchase info for eg BHP.dat it automatically changes it for each sub portfolio. : Presume you are saying that is just the way the program goes, and I now need to go back to the multiple versions of the one investment. : Thanks in advance, great program overall. : Mary Hi Mary, Since each holding of BHP has separate transactions you would want unique investments for each holding of BHP. You can put the same investment file in multiple sub-portfolios, but since it is a common investment file, any change you make to it will be reflected wherever that investment is located. We do have an FAQ on this, which may provide some more help: http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/faq.html#mult_inv Thanks,
