: Hopefully final question on this topic: Is there a way for me to have those investments be present in this summary portfolio editor as well. Or can I create a separate sub-portfolio where these investments are linked to.

: So for example, can I create links to these investmetns in the Top portfolio. This way the investments can show up in the top portfolio editor report -- and that is the report that i want to see most often in any case. Plus, I do not have to generate the report!

: I want to have them sit in the individual portfolios for purposes of gains calculations, retrieval of transactions etc

: And when I run overall report, I want to be able to exclude the individual sub-portfolios (to avoid double counting). This is what I was not able to do -- exclude the sub-portfolios for Top portfolio value calculation even though i did not click the "include sub-portfolio" check box.

: Thanks Mark!

Hi MS,

I'm sorry, but it just doesn't work like that. The Portfolio Editor works like Windows Explorer does. The right side view displays just what is immediately in the selected object on the left.

Higher level portfolios always include everything that is beneath them. If you wanted, you could create the report, and then save your portfolio file using "File / Save Portfolio". This way, when you open Fund Manager, that report will be created for you automatically.

Thanks,
Mark
