: : One additional question about the matter of importing.

: : It looks as if all the data I'm importing --transactions, trades, dividends-- is in the format .csv. Your maanual implies that only transaction data is acceptable to Fund Manager in .csv format, whereas this format does not appear to be accepted for position records. Am I misreading or is this indeed a problem? The data I'm downloading can be demarcated as all transactions, all trades, buys, sells, dividends. For obvious reasons, my preference is to import everything at once via "all transactions".

: Hi Steve,

: It sounds like you are subscribed to the TD Waterhouse format, and not the Ameritrade format. TD Ameritrade still supports making both of those available, but it depends how you were initially signed up with them... The TD Waterhouse formatted transaction file is indeed a .CSV formatted file. The filename should end in .TRN though. Fund Manager understands the format of this file, and you can import the .TRN file with "File / Import / Transactions / TD Waterhouse...".

By the way, I stumbled into these files by happenstance. TD Ameritrade's institutional service team does not seem to know this data exists. Officially, the data import files are on-line for 30 days or so, only. So, I'm on my own in making use of it.

In response to your comment above, do you suggest that I merely change the ending from csv to trn to import the data?
