Cursor Question

Just to remind you, I'm running Personal v.7.7.

My default display is a single value graph on the screen, with the rest of the open portfolio 'behind' it, so to speak. The background is green, and the cursor is a sort of thick white arrow, which is what I want. (This all probably describes the default display, but I'm not sure.) SOMETIMES instead of the white arrow I get a very thin sort of black X. How do I set things so that I always have the thick white arrow, which is the way I had things in my previous version, v. 5?
