: in another way: I want to have the same stock in two or more subportfolios. Canīt I have only one investment file with the stock historical data? If I really canīt, how would I get a report of my ALL trades with that stock, if they are recognized as different things? thanks again

Hi Sergio,

You would want to have a separate investment file (*.dat) for each client holding this position. Then, put each client's investment file in their own sub-portfolio. An investment file contains all the pricing/transaction data for that investment. You would want separate ones, so you can track the transaction history separately for each client, and report on each client's holdings.

There is no one consolidated report that would show you only trades in this one stock. You could look at the trades in each investment separately. You can create many of the other reports and "List By" symbol, so you can see all these stocks consolidated into a single line item (since they would have the same symbol). In the upcoming v8 you will also be able to list by investment, and filter by symbol, so you could have one line item for each investment, and only displaying this one stock. You still can't filter the "Investment Transaction" report by symbol though, which is what I think you're looking for. That would be something good to add.

Also, there is a tutorial on combining multiple *.mm4 files into a single one with sub-portfolios. Please read:

Thanks,
