Unwanted date range change

The date range on my graphs seems to switch from yeartodate to monthtodate unexpectedly, with no input from me that I'm aware of. One way I can consistently make it happen is bring up Portfolio Gain graph (starts in YTD mode), click c to change to current cost, then click h to see historical, and now it has changed to MTD. This happens with individual stock charts as well, but seemingly randomly,I have no idea why, or how to replicate it. Thanks
