: Dear Mark,
: I own version 6.8. Importing transactions through this version is by going through the "middle-step" of Yahoo, if I am not wrong. This is quite cumbersome and I gave up on it seveal years ago.
: In the new version 8, can I download transactions directly from say Scottrade and Ameriprise? If so how vulnerable would I be to "outsiders" hacking into FM and accessing my passwords to these and other sites?
: Thank yyou,

Hi Kaveh,

The old middle-step Yahoo method is no longer available. Now, Fund Manager retrieves directly from your broker or mutual fund company. It works the same way as in Quicken or Money, where you retrieve directly from the "Open Financial Exchange" server of the broker or fund company. To read more about using this feature in FM, see:

http://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/tintrtv.html

All of the communications done between FM and the open financial exchange servers is done using the HTTPS protocol, which is a secure communication method.

Thanks,
Mark
