: : : To find the quarterly return on my portfolio, I’m using Custom Report, %Gain (end), and changing the Period: Start – End settings as 1-1-06 and 3-31-06, 4-1-06 and 6-30-06,etc. However, when I set the Period for the whole year, the reported %Gain differs substantially from the sum of the quarterly Gains (13.25 for year, 26.85 for sum). Is that to be expected? Thank you & Happy New Year.

: : Hi Harry,

: : The %Gain (end) goes from the investment's inception up through the ending report date. I think you are instead looking for %Gain (btw). This only goes from the report start date to report end date.

: : Thanks,

No, %Gain (end) is the right one, but I'm wondering whether the sum below line (above double line) is weighted to the $ amount of each investment? Ie., is that the weighted % gain for the portfolio, calculated from the inception of each individual stock to report end date?
