: Mark,

: Several questions about how the Reconcile Function works:

: 1) What is the source of the 'statements' if users 'Retrieve from Broker/Fund Company'? I assumed initially that these statements were OFX data, but that's apparently not the case because getting OFX data is another option in the program.

: 2) Are these statements only the most recent balance tabulations, or are these a series of statements over multiple months?

: 3) If users input data , to, say 11/30/06, is the balance reconciled to 11/30/06, or up to the most recent 'statement'?

: It's a nice feature...but I'm unfamiliar about how data is being exploited here.

Hi SS,

When you use the "Retrieve from Broker/Fund Company" source you are connecting to the broker/fund company, and requesting the current statement. This statement has share balances of all your holdings, and the date is specified by the broker/fund company. Usually this date is the current date.

This reconciliation is similar, but different from retrieving transactions. You are connecting to the same broker/fund company, but in the case of reconciliation, you are only asking for a statement of current balances (positions). In the case of retrieving transactions, you're asking for transactions instead.

Thanks,
Mark
