Printing Notes

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby nismith » Fri Feb 06, 2015 11:28 am

I make notes against each investment intended as a diary of relevant points.

I also have a dummy investment shown here as 'Quick list TRUSTS' for more general comments on the portfolio or items picked up from the press.

I also do a Quarterly Review against the sreen show here using investment custom fields to record the latest decision and reason.

1-I have managed to modify the transactions report to print out but the notes appear to be centre-justified which looks pretty awkward, Can I cure that?

2-Could there be a small custom field that is sortable along with each note?

3- Lastly is there a way of memorizing the Review screen so that I don't have to remake it next time I use the valuation screen.

Hi Nigel,

For the next major update we have changed the Notes to display left justified instead of centered in the Investment Transaction report. There is no option currently to change this.

Custom report fields are not available at a transaction/note level. The smallest item is an investment level in the Custom report.

What are you looking at that you're calling the "Review" screen? Are you talking about the Portfolio Editor? The list columns you select in the Portfolio Editor are automatically memorized, and stay the same until you change them.
Thanks,
Mark

Yes my Review screen is just the Portfolio editor with most usual columns hidden and a couple added so I will have to rebuild the original portfolio window. .. and again when I go back to my 'Review' screen. Some programs have a way of remembering 'views' but don't ask me how they do it.

Glad to hear the notes will be left justified in the future.

Hi Nigel,

I think you may be looking for a way to save multiple different templates for the Portfolio Editor. That way you can easily switch between different preset column combinations. This is something we hope to offer in the future.
Thanks,
Mark
