Version 9.7 is not Windows 7 or Windows 8 compatible. The issue you describe is a know issue in versions before 10.
To transfer 9.x to a new computer (not running Win 7/8), I'd suggest just copying your *.mm4 and *.dat files over. To fix the issue you're seeing now, you will need to uninstall Fund Manager from your new computer. I would not suggest using 9.7 under Windows 7 or Windows 8 though, as it is not compatible/supported under those newer versions of Windows.
