where is currency template

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Hi Mark,
Can you please tell me where the "currency settings" template is stored and what is the name of the file? If I sandbox FM, the currency templates aren't saving.

Thanks very much.

Hi manageruser,

They are stored in the registry under the key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Beiley Software\Fund Manager\CurrentVersion
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Mark, that worked. When I am more awake, I will come back to you on setting up a Toolbar button to finally make switchable multi-curreency views in one report. This will be a huge time saver. You essentially have it with the F11 key; a button and also some type of display stating which default currency you are in, and that should be it.

Thanks again.

Hi Mark,

To summarize, I have been asking you for a way to use one portfolio with one set of reports; and to be able to switch currency valuations. You have repeately said that you will get to it.

Now, I see there is the currency template option in the options section of Professional. I have set up chf, gbr, eur, usd and xau templates. I also have 5 portfolios, one for each currency. This is ridiculous since all of the investments are the same in all of the portfolios. Until now, it was the only way to see valuations in differing currencies.

Now, if i press f11, I can switch between currencies, only having to deal with and maintain one portfolio. The current issues are;

- A toolbar button with a dropdown list would be far more professional and elegant than f11.

- If i switch from USD template to EUR template, it doesn't show up anywhere on the report or on the toolbar. Can you add it somewhere to show which template is being used? If you are studying investmnets, you don't want to have to keep guessing which currency you are looking at, really.

Thanks Mark, almost there as far as I'm concerned. Very nice.

Hi manageruser,

Glad it is getting better... Appreciate the feedback on these 2 remaining issues. We can try to improve these in the future. If you are using the Advisor version, you can customize your report headers (Options / Report Headers...) to include the currency of the report in the report header. The field name is [[CURRENCY]].
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
I see the "currency" header and it works well, although I still would argue my idea is more elegant (who needs elegance when you offer functions though?).

Now, my only question is, can we do a toggle button instead of f11?

All in all, it is much better. This will save me time and reduce possible human error. Thanks Mark.

Hi manageruser,

Great, glad that helps. Thanks for the feedback on the toolbar button or dropdown. I do agree that would be a nice option to add.
Thanks,
Mark
