ROI (end) Problem

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby DavidJ » Tue Dec 02, 2014 11:52 am

Hi!

I recently updated to FM Personal 2014.13.3, and I'm running Win7 SP1 64 bit. I think that this problem is new; at least, I never noticed it before.

I am running a custom report. One of the investments, which is still owned today (and was owned on the beginning date of the report), shows NA for ROI (end). Updating all of the historical prices from the 'Net didn't help. The only thing I can see about this investment which is unusual is that I sold the position I had in this investment in 1999, and bought it again in 2003.

What is the problem, and how should I solve it?

Thanks.
David.

Hi David,

To determine the problem select "Help / Report Calculation Log..." and look for any message about this investment.

My guess is that you have yield interpolation range settings such that items not owned over the whole yield term will not be reported. See "Options / Yield Interpolation Range... / Only Report ROI Yields When Item is Owned for Entire Yield Term". If you press "Help" in this dialog there is a section describing what this option means, and how it works.
Thanks,
Mark

Yes; that was it.

Thanks.
