Oh, I am red-faced. I should have found some of this on my own. I'll chalk a bit of this up to ambiguity and inconsistency in language. But that doesn't explain my being able to find *nothing* and for that I apologize. Poor reading skills when I got to the "Income Dialog" page in the Help file.
It does seem truly odd however that the Portfolio Editor can display the fields that I create in the Custom tab of Investment Properties (sometimes trivial and/or temporary) but only some of the info I might enter in the Income tab.
Also, since I brought up the question of controlled vocabulary elsewhere, I'll share another example: The Income Schedule report can have "amount per share" of the scheduled payment, and will list each payment in the time period for a security. I think the closest I can come in a custom report is a combination of "next income value" and "projected annual income" in Custom Settings. For my purposes, the latter arrangement is actually preferable to multiple lines for the same security, but it's not easy to find either setting and I think not possible to find what is used in the pre-set report. (Both of the custom settings are among the "value" fields. In addition to better control over vocabulary, an "income and distributions" category among custom settings wouldn't be a bad idea. The categories should be more balanced.)
Thanks for your guidance,
Jeanne
PS: In the Portfolio Editor > Customize > Choose Columns... window. Could we get all these in alpha order and/or in categories?
