Investment files corrupted after BSOD

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Matt » Wed Dec 14, 2016 6:53 am

Mark,
I had one of the BSOD crashes all too frequent since having installed Windows 10. ("Attempted switch from DPC") This happened whilst I was away from the computer, presumably just when FM updated prices or similar.

Now FM seems corrupted. After reboot I get the message "Unknown version" when loading Investment Data files with the text "specified file was created with a previous version of Fund Manager" etc. If I click YES to the offer to convert to "latest format" I get a message "Data file is incomplete or in an incorrect format". The .fmb back up file is of no help.
What should i do?

Matt

Hi Matt,

Why is the .fmb of no help? Is it corrupt too? Were you able to do a restore? If you use "File / Restore..." and pick your *.fmb file, does it restore without error? If you have automatic backup turned on, you should have many *.fmb files to choose from.
Thanks,
Mark
