Downloaded prices-> unexpected graph rendering

Hi Mark,

I've downloaded these data from Quandl in Fund Manager:

The price retrieve seems good, but the graph result is unexpected. A straight line:


I can't find the cause of the issue... Could you help ?

Hi Djobydjoba,

I suspect it is related to the plotting of weekend data points. The last several of those data points that I checked are for Saturdays. Try turning off "Graphs / Options / Display... / Omit Weekends on Investment Based Graphs" and see if that makes a difference.

Yes, this is it! Most of the prices are issued the saturday.

But I don't want to display weekends though...

Can this be considered as a sort of bug in this case? Perhaps an expected behavior could be that the price issued the weekend, even if not displayed, should be displayed the first day of the next week (monday) when no price are available for this first day?

Hi Djobydjoba,

Yes, this is a bit of an unusual situation. For the price graph, FM simply plots the recorded prices, and skips over any recorded data points that are for weekends. Usually this is fine, and it has the benefit of being fast. We can consider adding in some checks for this case, but I think it needs some more thought, as I don't want to hurt drawing speed.
