New File?

Good Morning Mark,

For whatever reason when transferring data onto this computer, the file you created long ago (Closed Accounts) did not come over. I have transferred the data onto a flash drive but, am not seeing how I set up a separate file to download these "Closed Accounts" into.

This is not a new Portfolio rather a new file.

Hi Heidi,

What type of file are you asking about? FM has 3 general types of files:

.FMB: Backup file
.MM4: Portfolio file
.DAT: Investment file

If you're asking how to open a .mm4 file, just use "File / Open Portfolio..." and you can open it. Portfolio files will also open whatever .dat files belong in sub-portfolios that are part of this portfolio file.

Hi Heidi,

To create a .mm4 file, use "File / Save Portfolio As...". You might want to first do "File / Close Portfolio" so you can then create a new/empty .mm4 file that you can start moving things into.
