exchange rate on transaction

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

HI Mark Thanks for the update ETF all good now used Yahoo UK
Is there any way I can see what exchange rate was applied to a particular transaction
I need this for tax reporting

Hi Alan,

Yes, run an "Investment Transaction" report, and under "Options / Report Preferences... / Investment Transactions", turn on "Exchange Rate".

HI I am getting a blank column for the exchange rate....strange How do I fix this

Lat three months the NZD amount is the same looks like exchange rate it not being applied

Make sure you have "View / Exchange Rate Adjusted" turned off, and that the investment is assigned to a non-default currency in the properties of that investment.

Where are you viewing this? Are you using an exchange rate investment? If so, look at the "Prices" of this exchange rate investment in the Data Register.

HI Used to work then October the value in NZD always the same When I turn that off in the view menu I only see it in pounds not in home currency nzd

My currency folder is blank Seems like I lost all the values Do I need to setup all the currencies again If I do that will it reset the values to the corrrect ones....seems to be just using the same one all the time and not updaing the currency

Please watch these tutorials on the Data Register and using Multiple Currencies, and let me know if you still have questions after watching those.

For some reason my currency folder is now blank Has lost all the curencies I set up must have happened late last year as they were all working fine I need to redo from scratch Will FM go back and fix all the values once I do that

Hi alan,

What is a "currency folder"? Do you mean a sub-portfolio where you stored your exchange rate investments? Are your exchange rate investments still assigned? Look under "Options / Currency Settings..." to see.

Yes I created a currency sub portfolio and made us all the currency pairs I use eg GBPNZD=x
its now blank So all the asigments have nothing and the currencies are not updating
When making a new currecy pair do you set to internet retrieve and use the default server?
I just hope I can recreate the correct forex for last financial year I did think it strange that a pension I get every month in BGP showed the same NZD value since october 2019
