Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager
by Mark » Sun Jun 14, 2020 7:00 am
Hi divinest, It looks like you could import that with the "File / Import / Transactions / Generic..." command, after massaging it some. You'd want to take a look at the downloaded file, and then see which fields you need to use to import. Press "Help..." in that dialog box for detailed instructions on that command, or just go here.

Hi, any update on an excel import template? My brokerage is not connected and this is the only practical way to import. TIA.

Hi ZOO55,
This topic was discussing retrieving from Fidelity Investments, which is working again. Are you trying to get data from some other broker? If they're not in our list of supported brokers for retrieving transactions, then you'll have to download a transaction history from that broker and import, or manually enter transactions.

Hi Mark The ofxhome tool site you posted unfortunately seems to be running out of time. It promises availability through Feb 2022. http://www.ofxhome.com/ofxforum/viewtopic.php?id=49812For anybody needing this type of service, may be time to start looking. Viz Fidelity transactions. Following the link ofxhome link you posted, I find that Fidelity is failing SSL connections since early November 2020. The transaction dl seems to work, but I guess that means it's in the open... I will look into this and report if I find anything useful. Does FM not use SSL for its transactions dl and/or does it "fail over to" a plain connection silently? Thanks, Rufus

Never mind about ofx/ssl question. I found the manual page about using https.
Thanks, Rufus

Hi Rufus, That site doesn't impact anything about FM and its ability to connect with brokers. It is an independent information/checking site. There is no need to worry. If that site were to go away, nothing about the OFX functionality would be affected. Fidelity's OFX server requires a more modern encryption protocol, that I'm guessing that site doesn't use. See this post for more info.
