Is is possible to change the directory in which the data files for a subportfolio are stored?

Yes. You can do it 1 investment at a time, or the easier way is "File / File Operations / Set Data Location...".
Thanks,

In Portfolio Editor I highlighted one subportfolio and selected File > File Operations > Set Data Location:

This seems to change the base location of all Subportfolios. Can I change just the subdirectory in which one subportfolio's files are stored?

No. This command will move all your data files, not just one for a particular sub-portfolio. Usually this is the best way to store your data (all files in a single folder). It works a lot better if you need to move your data to another computer.
Thanks,
