Tranfer in inherited stock

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark,

How do I go about creating a new stock that I inherited from a relative?

For example, if I want to transfer 200 shares of AAPL into my Fidelity account, I know the cost basis is the price of the stock on the day I inherited it, but no cash is used to acquire the stock.

Hi Robert A,

You can use a "Transfer In" or you could record a Buy, but either not use the default cash account, or delete the cash side of the transaction afterwards. A Transfer In is probably the most appropriate here.
Thanks,
Mark

Thank you. "Buying" the stock and removing the corresponding cash transaction worked.
