Historical Price Retrieve misses investments

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Hi,
Often when I update all historical prices in the master portfolio (100s), some investments are missed, even if I repeat, and I have to go back and retrieve the investments individually. This does not happen when retrieving daily prices.
Any thoughts?

Hi CGB,

When this happens next time, please try emailing us your price retrieve log file (Help / Logs / Price Retrieve...).

I sent a log to bugreports.
What happens is dates are skipped for some investments. For example only the prices for the first 3 and last 3 days of a monthly interval are retrieved. And this is repeated for the same investments if I try again.

Hi CGB,

I didn't really follow the specifics. Can you let me know a specific request in the log that isn't working? For example, which request and what symbol/date are you referring to?

Hi,

The historic price-only retrieve is for the period of 9/1/21 to 10/7/21. However, for several symbols, the prices are not returned for all the valid dates in the period.

For example, for VDE, VIS, BA, SNA, UBER, SWK, REZI, RSP, VDADX, IVOO, VIOO, VPADX, VIG, and many other symbols towards the end of the log, the prices between 9/3/21 and 9/30/21 are skipped.

Thanks, I understand now, and see what you're describing from your log. I'm not sure why that is happening. We'll have to see if we can't set up a similar portfolio, and try to reproduce the problem here.

Hi CGB,

I noticed that the problem starts after a failure to retrieve the symbol TOT is reported. TOT doesn't seem to be a valid symbol on Yahoo. What if you set TOT to not retrieve, and then try the historical retrieve again?

I set "TOT" to not retrieve and the historical retrieve worked fine without any errors.
