Nuveen funds merger

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby faezandyc » Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:59 pm

My recent statement from an account of mine shows an exchange of 884 shares of Nuveen Tax-advantaged Dividend Growth fund for 804 shares of Nuveen Multi Asset Income Fund. The 884 are labeled "shrs surrendered - merger" and the 804 are labeled "shrs received thru merger".

The net proceeds are shown as $0.00 and realized gain/loss is shown as N/A.

How do I show this in Fund Manager? It looks like in my account, the 884 shares of one fund became 804 shares of a different fund on the given date. And there were no costs or taxes involved.

BTW, I think they were consolidating some of the Nuveen funds.

Hi Andy,

You can record this with:

- A split transaction with a ratio of <new shares> for <old shares>, which would be 804 for 884 in your example

- Change the name/symbol/CUSIP under "Investment Properties..."
Thanks,
Mark

That worked! Now why didn't I think of that?

Thanks.
