Hi Larry,

We have instructions for this here:

https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/faq ... tments.php

Basically, you want to create a new investment for each holding of the same security. You save each investment as its own *.dat data file, so you can track the transactions separately.
Thanks,
Mark

Hello Mark.
Is it it correct to say that when one creates a new investment FM assigns a new
*.dat data file name but if even if I change the name of the investment it will keep the same origninal name of the datafile only with a number 1 or 2 afterwards.

And if the above is true how can I find the correct name of the data file ?
Thanks fo your answer

Hi Arrow,

When you create an investment, you assign it to a *.dat filename. That filename doesn't change when you change any of the properties of that investment (name, symbol, etc). You can change the filename, by using "File / Save Investment As..." if you want.
Thanks,
Mark
