Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby joeschreiber » Mon Apr 15, 2024 8:11 am

I am no longer able to update prices as of today.

I am using Fundmanager 2022.171.1.100 and quote module 586.

Do I need to update to Fundmanager 2024 or is it another problem that can be fixed?

Thank you.

Hi joeschreiber,

There have been many changes with the Yahoo servers, and we've fixed some, but new ones have come up. We are only providing updates to the FM 2024 versions (the current major version), so in order to get these updates you will need to be using FM 2024. You can read about this policy here.

If you still have troubles retrieving with FM 2024 and after having done a "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." please let me know.
Thanks,
Mark

Thank you, Mark.

I installed 2024 and updated the quote module to 600.

Prices are now updated, albeit slowly.

Thanks!

Hi danmcco,

We're aware Yahoo (Options) isn't working, and are working on it. You can check back to see the status by selecting "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates...". We have posted the status of each quote server there, and you will be able to download a new quote module when available.
Thanks,
Mark

The quote module has been updated. Version 601 is available by selecting "Help / Fund Manager on the Web / Check for Updates..." from within Fund Manager 2024.

All Yahoo servers are working again with this new quote module. Please let us know if you still have any issues.
Thanks,
Mark

My FM2022 with quote module 592 is working again fine right now for Yahoo price retrieval. Yahoo historical had been able to retrieve the current prices throughout.

I have module 601 but still can't get my options prices updated. The status page on Fund Manager Software indicates that Yahoo Options are working. Is there an additional setting that I need to do on my end to get these prices to update?

Thanks in advance!

Tommy.

Hi Tommy,

Make sure you've recorded the symbol as shown on Yahoo's site for the option in question. Also, make sure you are retrieving that option investment from "Yahoo (Options)", and not just the regular "Yahoo". I just tested the Yahoo (Options) server again from here, and it appears to be working properly. If you still have problems, email me your price retrieve log from "Help / Logs".
Thanks,
Mark

Ok, Schwab has spaces between the stock symbol and the start of the date...

I just changed one option from "DIS 240621P00110000" to "DIS240621P00110000" in my data and it is working. I'll work on changing all of the symbols coming from Schwab going forward.

Thanks Mark!

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for pointing this out. This server is supposed to automatically handle symbols with spaces, but this broke in one of our recent updates. We'll get this fixed, and publish an update, so it is okay to have spaces in your option symbols.
Thanks,
Mark

Version 602 of the quote module has just been released, and fixes this issue. Use "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." to download.
