Stooq prices include dividends

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Djobydjoba » Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:34 am

Hi Mark,

The Stooq prices, as downloaded by Fund Manager, include the dividends. This is a problem because it's not compliance with official stock prices and the other quote servers, like Yahoo.

Just an example with a stock that distributes good dividends: Exxon Mobil (ticker: XOM). See the difference between prices from Yahoo (or Investing.com... whatever) and Stooq:

The Exxon Mobil page on Stooq is here.

First, you might be interested by the link at the bottom of the page (to translate into English) : Why do other sites charts do not look the same?

Otherwise, in the Historical data section, Skip > Dividends have to be checked for the prices not to include dividends. And probably all the other options but Splits can be checked for safety (preemptive rights, etc.):

Then, link at the bottom "Download data in csv file...", then manual import in FM, the prices now match perfectly those of Yahoo (to the point of completely covering them, in the graph below):

Do you think that can fixed for automatic download by Fund Manager?

Thanks.

Hi Djobydjoba,

Thanks very much for pointing this out. Yes, I think we can give you more control here. Maybe what we'll do is add a new "Stooq (Adjusted Historical)" server which doesn't omit any of those items, and works like Stooq (Historical) does currently. We'll change "Stooq (Historical)" to omit all of those items. This way, it will be consistent with how Yahoo (Adjusted Historical) and Yahoo (Historical) work.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Djobydjoba,

Quote module 620 is now available, and offers both Stooq (Adjusted Historical) as well as Stooq (Historical).
Thanks,
Mark

Hi robert1,

I believe they only offer stock quotes, no fund or ETFs. There is no charge to use this server.
Thanks,
Mark

Yes, Stooq offers the ETFs for USA, Japan, UK and Kong-Kong. It's in the 'Stocks' section.
But no mutual funds.
