Vanguard Transactione Retrieve Error

I live near Vanguard's HQ in Malvern. A number of my neighbors work for Vanguard. The organization is screwed up with a lot of early retirements and new hires and morale problems. I am told that it is not a rewarding place to work. I know that this post doesn't help all of us Fund Manager folks with our problems downloading, but to make changes in the OFX logon that would affect the hundreds of thousands of Quicken users is just incredibly stupid.
An update from the "Relationship Manager" for my account at Vanguard:
I will post again when they notify me the problem has been resolved.
Hi fmuser,
Thanks for sharing that.
Hi Mark,
Is Vanguard working with FM Retrieve now? I have given up and just update manually but would like to get back to the instant update. Also it seems like my requests to Vanguard are confusing and I get a lot of double entries on certain investments and double entries for dividends in my cash accounts also. ..... Just wondering.... is there a way to start a totally clean request of my accounts from Vanguard under a different program name ie "FM2" so that it doesn't rely on any of my old data. Thanks, Jim
Hi Jim,
No, the transaction retrieve is not working currently. We are hoping that Vanguard can return their OFX server to a working status soon, but I don’t have any other information.
Hi dellwo,
Thanks for pointing this out. I see the same here. Unfortunately, although Quicken is now working, when Fund Manager makes a request to Vanguard's OFX server it does not respond, and eventually the request times out. So, the error takes longer to occur, but the result is still the same, that FM isn't able to get a response from Vanguard's OFX server. Quicken is indeed still using the same OFX server as before. I don't know this for sure, but I suspect Vanguard may be restricting access to their OFX server via IP address, and only allowing Quicken's servers access. Unfortunately, this isn't promising... We still haven't been successful in talking to anyone in the know from Vanguard.
Thanks for sharing that dtd... Very unfortunate.
Just a notice for anyone reading this thread... We have instructions for downloading/importing an OFX file from Vanguard here:
https://www.fundmanagersoftware.com/faq_vanguard.php You can download all accounts into a single OFX file that can be used for both importing transactions and reconciling. It isn't as easy as the previous retrieval, but it is quite easy.
