Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager
by B2B_Investing » Sat Aug 02, 2025 4:41 am
Morning Mark,
I am retrieving transactions for a Fidelity account for a new position in QQQ. When FM retrieved transactions earlier this week, it retrieved other transactions that executed in that account at the same time however not the initial purchase or subsequent ones for QQQ. When I look in the raw and parsed transaction retrieve logs, I do see transaction information for QQQ. Is there something I need to do on my end for this specific security?

Hi Jason,
Here are some things to check:
1) Make sure the date range of your retrieve is covering the dates of the transactions 2) Maybe the transactions were already imported? It might be a hidden investment? Try temporarily turning off the option to "Skip Transactions Already in FM", and look at the "Preview Importing Transactions" dialog. Do you see the transactions? Click "Cancel" or "Back", so as to not import duplicates. If you see the transactions with this option off, but not with this option on, then they're already in your data.

Hi Mark,
Yes the date range covers the date of the transaction.
When I turn on "view hidden investments/portfolios" I confirmed it is not there (this is the first time it has been purchased for this account.) When I uncheck "Skip Transactions Already in Fund Manager" and retrieve the transactions, the QQQ transactions do not appear in the "Preview Importing Transactions" window.
I have also not been prompted to ever create a new investment for this new position.
This one is just odd.

Hi Jason,
Okay. If you're sure the QQQ transaction is in the file, but isn't importing, maybe you can email me the log files. Send me both the log files:
Help / Logs / Transaction Retrieve (Raw)... Help / Logs / Transaction Retrieve (Parsed)...

Hi Jason,
Thanks for the log files. I am seeing 2 transactions for QQQ when importing the file you sent. I replied to your email with a screenshot, and some further instructions.

Actually, it looks like I wasn't able to reply to your email. Your mail server rejected it as junk mail, and it bounced back. If you have another email address I can send it to, please let me know.
