Stock Options Plan

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby Flijfi » Thu Feb 24, 2011 6:36 am

This is a newbie question , I think.

I have some stock options from the company I work to.
So they have an underlying stock quoted as usual, but they doesn't have any Option symbol to be tracked.

I have two questions:

1) How should I register my options, since I didn't find where to put the "grant" price and the vesting date?

2) How to track the value of this portfolio, since it is based on the difference between the underlying stock and the granted price? (After the vesting date, and $0 before that).

Regards,

Hi Flijfi,

Fund Manager unfortunately doesn't have special support for employer granted options. You can track them though. Assuming they are above water, record a buy for the quantity in the underlying stock (usually for the vesting date), and record a sell of cash for your cost to acquire these shares. The difference will be their actual market value to you. If the options are not above water, then do not record anything.
Thanks,
Mark
