I have had a lot of portfolios. I Have deleted most of them through "open Portfolio".
I think I have a lot of *.dat files left from these portfolios. Are there methods to delete the *.dat files not in use?

Best Regards

Hi Nipse,

Here's a method you can use:

1) Edit the properties of an investment, and go to the "Password" tab. Assign a password, and choose "Apply to All Open Investments".

2) Issue "File / Save Investments".

3) Now, you can go look at your investments in Windows Explorer and sort by date modified. Any investments that didn't just get modified were not open. You can delete these older ones without affecting the portfolio file you just had open.

4) If desired, un-do the password assignment from step #1.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Nipse,

Yes, you can delete all those files, they are not used by recent versions of Fund Manager.
Thanks,
Mark
