Qute Servers - retrieving Foreign Bond Prices

Problem retrieving prices of Overseas Bonds.

I have a problem using the most valuable feature of FM – the Price Retrieving. Most servers on FM quote server list works only with stocks. Retrieving foreign (non-North American) bond prices without issued CUSIP number doesn't work well, or not at all . FINRA work only with North American bonds

Yahoo appear to be the only server where foreign bonds are found (not always). Yahoo doesn't recognize ISIN number, so symbol acceptable by Yahoo must be found. Although Yahoo recognize German WKN (Security Code Number) identifier/symbol for bonds traded on German stock exchanges , BUT IT DOESN'T UPDATE THE PRICES.
Yahoo doesn't recognize other identifiers like ISIN, British SEDOL or BB number .
To get actual prices I'm using German stock exchanges (Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Berlin) and Luxembourg.

Example for the technically minded: Bond BAA SH PLC 7.125
Identifiers: ISIN= XS0555678597 * Sedol= B5LB6C0 * WKN= A1A3ET
Bond is listed on www.boerse-stuttgart.de under ISIN and on Yahoo symbol A1A3ET.F
It can be seen that Yahoo price doesn't update

Mark, would it be possible that FM retrieve prices from those exchanges? My friends like very much FM, just waiting for this problem to be solved.

Hi Nebfin,

Thanks for the nice example, and quote server suggestion. In looking up that quote on Yahoo they only offer Bid/Ask, and there is no "Last" price available, so it doesn't look like they actually have the data. Would adding support for www.boerse-stuttgart.de be sufficient to retrieve prices from all those exchanges?

Hi Mark, I really appreciate your quick response!!! The foreign bonds I'm interested in are listed on German, Luxembourg, UK/London and Australian markets. They are usually listed by ISIN, WKN (Germany) and SEDOL (British) identifiers/symbols. it will be great if FM can retrieve prices from the following markets:

* German:
Frankfurt: www.frankfurtstockexchange.de
Stuttgart: www.boerse-stuttgart.de/en/
Deutsche Boerse Group: http://deutsche-boerse.com/dbag/dispatc ... ation/home

* Luxembourg:
Luxembourgh: www.bourse.lu/Accueil.jsp
Luxembourgh Bonds: www.luxnext.com/

* UK: www.londonstockexchange.com/home/homepage.htm

I guess that 90% of world bonds (UK, European, Brazil, Australia ...) are listed on above markets. Usefulness of FM will greatly improve if it can retrieve those prices.

Thanks for the help. Our goal would be to expand on the existing quote coverage over our existing quote servers. Do all of these quote servers offer quotes not available on our existing servers like Bloomberg? If we had to prioritize and only support some of these, which do you feel would be the most valuable?

Hi Mark. I couldn't get bond prices on Bloomberg site. Maybe you can try, here is an example of bond listed in Frankfurt / Stuttgart exchange

EUR Magyar Telecom HTC 9,5 * ISIN= nXS0473176658 * WKN number= A1AQ66.F

I guess the most valuable site for BOND prices will come from rom XETRA- Deutsche Boerse Group / Stuttgart / Frankfurt exchange.

There is no scheduled release date for FM 12, but just based on past release frequencies I would expect it sometime around mid to late 2012. FM 11 was released in April of 2011, and we average about 1.5 years between major releases. You can see the revision history here:

We have just released quote module 444 which adds support for Boerse Stuttgart. For info on using this quote server, see:

To obtain this new quote module, make sure you are using a 12.x or later version, and select "Help / Fund Manager on the Web / Check for Updates...".

Hi I am having the same problem with foreign bonds eg AU3CB0209229 cusip

Looked on all the servers on the prog but cannot update
I can find it on swiss quote site but prog does not recover the quotes

I would love to buy the software but as most of my portfolio is in bonds I am doubful if this can be corrected

What country are your bonds from? Is there some site you know of that offers the quotes you need, that maybe we could add support for?

Hi some are NZ ie need support for nzx site Yahoo AUs/NZ gives only yields not buy sell

rest I can find on swiss quote website but they do not update in the prog.

I can also find most on the XTRA site
