Dangerous twofold transaction

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby SergeyKlyuev » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:24 am

Hi,

I have found very dangerous situation:
I've entered trade in portfolio. Than I've done something (perhaps, delete trade and entered it again with a little bit different parameters).
BUT then I've found that in Cash account sum for those purchase was written twice!!!!! So money from nowhere had appeared!!!
What could I did wrong?
How can I check that program works correct in the future?

Thank you,
Sergey

Hi Sergey,

This normally should not happen, unless you maybe un-assigned the default cash account while you deleted the transaction. As long as you leave the default cash account assigned, whenever you edit/delete a transaction, the corresponding default cash account entry should also be edited/deleted. You can convince yourself things are working okay by just recording a test transaction, and then editing or deleting it. You can view the cash side of the transaction, just like any transaction in the Data Register.
Thanks,
Mark
