Backup

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi Mark,

When I do a backup, the portfolio information goes to J:\Retirement\Retirement\Retirement.fmb.
The J drive is an external Hard drive.

My J drive was accidently unplugged and when I tried to open my portfolio I obviously received an error. Somehow my J drive became the backup drive. I do not remember setting that up but I am not sure. I am concerned that if my J drive were to fail I would lose all my data.

Can I backup to 2 locations and maybe also change the default location.
I hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Lou Martone

Hi Lou,

There is both an automatic backup, and a manual backup. To do a manual backup, use "File / Backup..." and you can save a backup anywhere/anytime you want. For the automatic backup you can choose the frequency and location under "Options / General Preferences... / Data".
Thanks,
Mark
