Problem with T. Rowe Price download

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

Postby dellwo » Tue Sep 11, 2012 2:13 pm

For weeks now, I cannot update transactions at T. Rowe Price.
All others work fine (Vanguard, ETrade...).
I'm using an older version 9.7.
It just says a General Error occurred, try again later.

Any ideas?
Thanks, Joe

I was playing some more.

This is a new computer. I installed the software and dropped in my original data folders.
Everything works but T. Rowe Price.

So, I booted my old computer and it still works there.
I compared ofxpost.txt files and the only difference I saw was.

Not working:
<APPID>Money
<APPVER>1700

Working:
<APPID>QWIN
<APPVER>1900

Does that help decipher this?
What should I copy from my old computer to make everything identical?
I went from WinXP to Win7 if that helps.

Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe,

You need an updated transaction retrieve module. We are no longer providing updates for the 9.x versions that you're using. We support the last two major versions, which are currently the 10.x and 11.x versions. From within any of these versions you can get the latest transaction module by selecting "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates...".

If your old computer has a more recent transaction module than your new computer, you can copy all the files in the installation folder over to your new computer.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks, that fixed it.

Sorry, I keep thinking I'll update, but when I check your site I think you might be close to releasing a new version. So I wait.

Soon, I swear.

Thanks, Joe
