Version 12 Vanguard Portfolio Update Problem

Questions about updating prices or transactions in Fund Manager

I have a problem updating my Vanguard accounts.
I spent a lot of time checking passwords etc, but it turns out it is just random.
About every other time I hit F8 it says "Signon Invalid"
Other times it works.

OFXRETR gives:
<STATUS><CODE>2000<SEVERITY>ERROR<MESSAGE> The Vanguard Group -- Direct Connect is not supported at Vanguard given your User Name.</STATUS>

Other times OFXRETR gives: Error 400: Error reported: 400

But if I do F8 again it will eventually work.

Any ideas?

Hi Joe,

I saw the same issue here. It seems to be some intermittent/random issues with the Vanguard server. We've made some improvements that should help here. Please use "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates..." and get the just released transaction module 171. Try the transaction retrieve again using this module.

Updated several times... Worked perfectly.

I am still having problems downloading transactions from Vanguard...I have several acccounts at Vanguard; all downloaded seamlessly with the old version. I have also tried with the lasted transaction module 171.

Hi LungDoc,

I just tested the Vanguard transaction retrieve from here, and it appears to be working okay now. Are you still having troubles? Do you get any error message? Are you retrieving transactions for a sub-portfolio you've already created in Fund Manager or are you using the New Portfolio Wizard?

I'm still having the problem. My Vanguard accounts are sub-porfolios previously created in FM in Version 11, not newly created thru new portfolio wizard.

If you look under "Help / About..." what version of the Transaction Module does it report?

When you retrieve transactions, what error messages do you receive?

I think I solved the issue by using new portfolio wizard to re do the accts. Thanks for the help. This is a great program. I particularly like the jumpdrive/cloud feature of version 12.
