Symbol Change

Hi,

I cannot find in the Help files how to handle a symbol change.

I have historical prices/transactions for RIM.to and the symbol is changed to BB.to
(US side RIMM became BBRY)

Is is just a simply right click Properties change to the Symbol field? I'm concerned that such a change would compromise my historical data.

Hi ThomasK,

Yes, you have it right. Just go into "Investment Properties..." and change the symbol. None of your historical data is changed when you do this. You would want to make sure that you don't retrieve historical prices for this investment back before the symbol change. It may not matter, if that symbol didn't exist before the change, but if it did, you'd be updating your closing prices with the prices from the wrong symbol. Price retrieval is based off the symbol property.
