Reversing Imported Transactions in Bulk

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Postby Segunmichael » Thu Feb 14, 2013 4:52 am

Hi Mark,

I import transactions to numerous sub-portfolios across different stocks on a daily basis. There are occasions when my import file (via generic) may have issues and i need to reverse the transactions. Short of deleting each transaction in each sub-portfolio which can take hours occasionally, how can i reverse the imported transactions in bulk please?

Thank you.

Hi Segunmichael,

There is no "undo" command after you've "Finished" the import. You could however, close Fund Manager without saving. This will of course not save any changes you've made since the last time you saved. You might want to save right before your import, and then if you don't like it, quit without saving. To do this, turn off the "Options / Save Investments/Portfolio on Exit" commands, and exit Fund Manager. When prompted to save, just choose "No".

The other possibility is you could restore from a prior backup. FM can make automatic backups for you. You control the frequency and number of backups. See "Options / General Preferences... / Data".
Thanks,
Mark
