HI Mark, I have the latest 442 and my internet connection is good. Tried Yahoo historical and MSN histoical, no prices received.

Hi csharin,

What date range did you enter? Sometimes the historical servers only have prices up through the prior day, so if you're just asking for today's prices with a historical server it may not be able to provide those. Use a current server instead in this case. A current server is one that doesn't have "Historical" in the name, like just plain "Yahoo".
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the quick response Mark. I was using 3/29/13 to 3/29/13.

Hi csharin,

The markets were closed on 3/29/13, as it was Good Friday. Therefore, there won't be any closing prices available on that date.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

That was it. I always update prices for the last day of the month. It's amazing that I didn't run into this in the last 18 years! When was the last year Good Friday fell on the last weekday of the month?

Thanks!

Hi Mark, One other thing I have been meaning to ask you about. I did price retrieve with range 3/28 to 3/28, but it also pulls in the current price 4/5. I don't want this since I compare total value to my broker monthly statements as a check.

Hi csharin,

That shouldn't happen. Are you sure it came in with the historical retrieve? Try deleting both prices, and re-do the historical retrieve. It should only update for the date range you request.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi SteveK,

It seems Bloomberg has eliminated some international stocks from the available quotes on their website. Just yesterday we added the "Reuters" server to help address this. You can download quote module 443 using "Help / FM on the Web / Check for Updates...". The Reuters server uses different symbols for the international exchanges than Bloomberg did, so you will need to visit the Reuters website to look up the required symbols, and change them in Fund Manager.

The other option is to just use Bloomberg (Historical) instead of Bloomberg for these quotes.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

Ooh no ! I have to individually change the investment symbols one after the other ! Is there any reason they did this? Maybe is reactivated later on ?

Hi SteveK,

If you use Bloomberg (Historical) you wouldn't have to change the symbols. I'm not sure why they did this, or if they will come back...
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark

Which server would you recommend to use when updating prices (as opposed to updating historical prices), now that Bloomberg for current prices is no longer available ?

regards,

Steve

Hi Steve,

If your quotes are available on Yahoo, I would suggest that server. It is fast and stable.
Thanks,
Mark

Yahoo (Real-Time) is only available in the professional and Advisor versions, unfortunately.

Hi Steve,

I was suggesting using the "Yahoo" server, not "Yahoo (Realtime)". These are 2 different choices, and the "Yahoo" server is available in all versions.
Thanks,
Mark
